Here at Dhomhnuill kennels we are VERY strict about the health of our dogs! DO NOT BE FOULED BY
THE BULLDOGGE CLAIM OF HEALTHIER! We started the BBBA a few years ago simply because of
the fact that the more of the Bulldogge lines we tried to incorporate into our program the more health issues
we ran into. With further investigation we discovered almost NO Bulldogge breeders doing any sort of
testing other then "My vet says she looks good" and "Bulldogges do not suffer from the same modern
Bulldog health issues". BULL$#!T. All of my dogs come down out of free whelped, free whelping CKC
registered "English" Bulldogs. I have personally run into more health issues in the Bulldogge then I have
with the modern Bulldog. Don't get me wrong they have there issues but just like any breed there are
"breeder's" I use the term loosely who feel that these are a part of the breed and do not overly try to breed
away from it. Example they say Bulldogs have bad hips, no need to x ray then we already know the out
come and the whole free whelping thing that really gets me. How do these breeders know they cant free
whelp? Mine did. But then again I did not book C-sections 4-5 days be for there due dates. While on the
other side the Bulldogge breeders say they are healthier so they don't really need to test for it. In my
opinion all breads should be screened for any and all known problems with in the breed. Breeder's who do
this can often still have health issues pop up but at least it is not from BLIND breeding but instead from the
unknown.
