My name is Trevor MacDonald and I have been working with Bulldogs since 2001. When I
first started my work to create a healthier line of Bulldog I was not aware of the Old
Bulldogge phenomenon so my dogs were all CKC Bulldogs. I used a few Johnson American
Bulldog/Bulldog crosses for the purpose of out crossing to my free whelping "English"
Bulldogs. My goal was always just to make a slightly less exaggerated "English" Bulldog. I
soon discovered the Old Bulldogge in all of it's lines and forms. Realising that I was not
alone in this idea of a more fit Bulldog I looked to associate my self with those with similar
goals but in a very short time I noticed that many of the Bulldogge breeders were breeding
for a totally different type then myself. Further more almost non of the breeders were doing
any health screenings other then basic vet check ups and very few lines were similar to one
another in conformation other then the fact that one could say yes there is some degree of
Bulldog cross in them. Fed up I disassociated my self with the Bulldogge community and
worked with other like minded breeders here in Canada to produce and Trademark a distinct
line of health certified Bulldog. My lines are very close to the Bulldog, we breed our dogs to
be about 75% CKC or AKC Bulldog in there make up. All of my dogs are genetic health
guaranteed and are bred from Veterinarian health certified, hip screened, free breeding, free
breathing and naturally whelped parents. They them selves are also free breathing and
whelped. As of April 2008 the Canadian government has approved the Dhomhnuill Style
Bulldog trademark, recognizing the DSB as the ONLY breed of alternative Bulldog being
bred and legally registered in Canada.
